Our TV-worshipping neighbor

I really like our apartment
But one of the few downsides is the
TV-worshipping neighbor below us
Single guy, in his mid 40s, has been
pleasant in limited interactions
However, there are three facts
about him I\'d like to share:
He is home an awful lot
When he\'s home, his TV is always on
When his TV is on, it\'s invariably loud
His living room is the same size
as ours so he can\'t be sitting more
than a few feet from the friggin\' set
Yet he often plays his shows loud
enough to be heard in our apartment
and in the hallway outside his door
We\'ve spoken to him about this
as did the landlord and I\'ve even done the foot-stomping-on-our-floor/his-ceiling thing
...and it seems he\'s tried to tone it down
But I guess he just can\'t resist a blaringly
loud TV commercial because we still hear it
In the grand scheme of things,
this rates as a truly minor problem...
but there is something deeply saddening
about how many folks watch 8-10
hours of television each day and
have become so desensitized that
deafening is the only acceptable
volume level for them
It\'s as if the louder they make the TV,
the less they have to think

I really like our house
But a downside to it
Is the ceaseless barking
Of the next-door neighbor's
Two dogs ,
etc etc etc ...........
