Fan Mail

I once wrote an article criticizing
the New York Times' hero-worshipping
coverage of American snipers in Iraq
Predictably, plenty of Soldier of Fortune
types sent me negative e-mails
Even got a letter 10 months
after the article was posted
It eloquently read:
“You suck! Those guys risk their lives for you and you write this trash, you don’t shouldn’t have the right to type this crap but these guys kill so you can! I will be sending this article to the sniper community so expect a lot more mail like this!”
To which I replied:
“I don’t know what’s worse, your silly reaction or the fact that there actually is a ‘sniper community’ for you to contact.”
