some kind of masochist
that’s gotta be me
angry for no reason
and too many reasons all at the same time…

lighting up
to calm the the cravings
to fill the empty
knowing
some fires
are best left
alone

but i keep grabbing for my lighter
burning anyway
i make plans to give up these
dirty habits of mine
but i never do…

i think, deep down,
i must like this
i must want this
or i’d never, ever
have ended up this way
