my mind was lost

my body took a left at the last street
and my mind stayed behind to poke around the town
i went back to find it, but it was nowhere to be found
so i looked for clues, and saw a gray smudge on the ground
which had to be made by it, so i knew i was in the right place
but my mind was by this time lost in space and my memory erased
