Full Moon Sea

By the light of a full moon sea
Did my steps lead me softly upon the sand
No line marked sea or sky
Instead hung blue the
Mist of a foam-drenched night
Deep out there
Smell of salted air
White capped swells
Sweep to shore
Rising, falling
Rising, falling
Leaving sparkles on the beach
Like the stars above, beyond my reach
There stood Meridith along the blue jetty surf
Calling, calling
Saying, “come take a drink”
When I awoke the night was hot and black as ink
