my glass butterfly heart

may gloomy skies
bring raining lightening visions
of your beautiful face
against grey clouds
turned promising.
just the thought of you
and my glass butterfly heart
morphs
into a window pane
through which only the star
of the sun shines through
veiling like two handed sheer curtains
of the soul covering
the transparent middle
of this quietly waiting escape.
a trellis climbs to the sill
of this morphed glass butterfly heart
turned window pane–
waiting, the trellis waits–
for your feet to traverse
like sterling roses
grey and silver and purple,
always without thorns.
you will take your gentle hands
sliding away the sheers
in the silent way of wind
and open the glass
and climb right through.
you will climb
right through
without breaking a thing
and then
you’ll finally see.
