I think I wrote about this somewhere else, not sure, but I did get a copy of one of the proposed screenplays Coppola was looking at, a couple of years ago. I thought it was a very 90’s style treatment, which I didn’t like.

The opening bit was of a greyhound running in the dark, and the running dog then morphed into a Greyhound bus, while a voice-over said something about Dean Moriarty always running, running …

Something like that. I just didn’t like it. I bet they would even use digital imaging like in “Jumanji” to make the dog morph into the bus. Yuck.

A movie of Dharma Bums, now that is a hell of an idea. The mountain scenes would look really good on a big screen.
