reactors humming in green fields far away
gradually shutting off, shutting down
turbines moving slow as a walk
machines dying everywhere in the vicinity
the food in every icebox has begun to rot
a porchlight down the street slowly fades out
all we can do is hold one another in fear
immobile in the pink dawnlight of this tragedy
