I can’t hear you

Parent message is 237943
over the rushing blood
pounding in my ears,
each drop of you
a rock in my filter,
stronger than the current,
unmeltable in the hotness,
deaf to self-talk,
despite the prudent dream
that cinches your options,
down to media size,
refusing to swallow
losses of control,
held captive in an old rerun
of love’s reflux,
your chin held like grandpop’s
my cradle, your salvation…..
