smearing the color
of the sky
inside my corneas
as the daylight
starts to fade
overran by the stars
that poke holes
in the blackening horizon
wanting to peek
in on deeper secrets
that hold ancestal anguish
like tea without sugar
in frail porcelain cups
that have cracks
and steam…
