mixed emotions

turbulent
inconsistent
not very well attuned
though i believe
that if the motor
is still running
there is still motion
e-motion pumping
live blood
shadows betray
once every day
i look over my shoulder
and in an instant they disappear
but leave the unwashable print
the scent the signature
the heavy burden
