kisses as currency

Parent message is 297846
we exchange our affections
like old, rusted coins–
pennies turning green
dimes black and featureless.

we pass handfuls
of kisses
for our drinks.
swallow it all down,
smooth, filling the belly
warm to the tips of the toes.

we are loose
with out skin
letting it brush against
bystanders,
hugging people
before pinning down a name.

richer
than thick chocolate cake
and all the money in existence.
