wait

these drawn out nights
when I wish for a bit o sentience at hand
warm and respondent, breathing
somewhere across a latitude of screen
where droplets condense and roll
from swollen eyes of midnight
drunkenness
and in the weekend drift,
the edge of barrenness, a note
plastered to the void of wish,
all is white within the waiting mind,
apriori
I need a faint intelligence
to keep me from the platitudes
monopolizing rhyme
in discordant chorus lines
of artless motion
wait, and do I wait in vain?
kicking like a wounded rocketeer
without a beat
a can can deprivation
raining on the show
