The woman in white at twilight.

Alone standing in twilight-gathers,
Dusk like cobwebs collects about your form.
Not gloomy – ethereal,
The light reflecting from the white cloth of your gown,
Like thistle down, your flesh reflects alabaster.
The pleats of your hair pay homage to some past beauty.
Out of focus, yet in view.
No honest spectators,
Yet we all watch you, and wait,
For your word upon our fate to cast,
The decision, your dice to throw, to know.
Yet you will defer to the will,
Of the wise and learned, your foolish heart,
Pulling strings to make things happen.
Invent, reinvent. Wind and rewind,
Turn and turn about, what is it all about?
Heading for the light, but never leaving the shore.
One more day, one less adventure.

This was written about a character in a novel- you’ve read.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year – I return to the responsibilities of Christmas. 🙂
