behind the frozen pastry

i found yours stars today,
sleeping in the back of my freezer
explaining their windchime pastlife,
never sounding off or glistening
with tender melodic sound
but an empty black musicvoid,
and i invited them into my kitchen
out of the cold lingering behind
the frozen dinner packages,
they are warm now, and will soon
be taking lessons from that
christmas tree in the basement, with
its electric star, fake, yet
able to glow- they’ll follow
the hot rushing mad words and
pink purple blue blinks of light
and then fly off into the world,
ready to feel the hot breath of
real lives
