then cross over
overstep my boundaries

just to feel

to press a finger to your lips
sweep you away
paint a song
smear your music on a canvas

just to see

you glancing back
flooding my gaze
coating my movements
stricken

just to taste

my flesh burning
peeling back your name
splashed in wine
a toast to your flight

just to smell

burnt umber
splashed from your eyes
clawed madly
my every tendon

just to hear

my echo rippled
dotting the canyon
painting that landscape
spraying your voice
