toes laid bare
on this mother planet
trailing into times long gone
i follow the scent of whispered longing
wandering her way

loose vines circle her ghost sighs
i trace her presence with my mind
listening for clues and sorrows
laughter as she painted her time

i drink from her stream
i feel her fresh seasons
another lived so fully here
i accept her gifts as i stretch along further

elizabethan agony, victorian pride
aryan dignity, semitic angst denied
but i celebrate it all
as i wander the paths of others
leaving my essence in cracks and forsythia
as blossoms in mid-flower
pass in joyful transience
