wealth & povery

I hate to sound like Ronald Reagan
But wealth and poverty are attitudes
Much like optimism and pessimism
I know there has to be a pony in here somewhere

I don’t have two nickels to rub together
And I think I am rich. Am I deluded?
The edge of my smile has nothing to do
With the Dow Jones average. We create our dreams
And they in turn live in us like spirits and resonnance.

I am wealthy if I wake to a breath of hemp and
You beside me lubricated with hope and cocoa butter.
I am rich if I have two smokes and a beer
I am a millionaire if I’m HERE.
