back when art garfunkel
was textile king
it was a gabardine season
because linen wrinkles too easily
and it’s important
to look professional
and neatly pressed
at all times
even though i don’t know much
about gabardine
as i’ve always been more of a cotton girl myself
standing barefoot on the lawn
in that eyelet skirt
wishing for more weekend
than i ever get
working nine to five
it’s not much of a living
but i can remember
that maybe things were better
back when art garfunkel
