i’m tired of hearing about acceptance
as if it were about taking things
(stealing things)
and placing them
in the hole of your pocket.
i’m tired of hearing about acceptance
as if it’s a choice for some
an obligation for others
or a refusal to balance scales
weighted with the thoughts of
meeting the distance in strangers’ eyes.
i’m tired of hearing about acceptance
taken in denial of the fact that
acceptance rides backseat to
rejection riding shotgun
and long looks writhe with
bullets in their mouths.
i’m tired
of hearing
about acceptance. i’m looking
for the proofs
found in simple equations
so undefined
that…acceptance?
it won’t be about taking things
fallen through holes in pockets;
it won’t be about obligations
clouded with rejection.

it will just be.
