Us in the long run, we think in
Irish progression for we are the
boys with pints and 40’s
With little left to lose. and
the little ones they wish
Irish spirit be with us but irish
blood has high alcohol content
Upon this breathalizer test. of
whom do you require to know of
God when you drink? the policeman
calls you a phoney and sends you
Down to barred windows,
the downtown cellar breaking this
flood of lack of wine. but
We know who will
burn and we know
the even score, vinny: the
brightest blind first
For the dullest fade fast and all
too soon they’ll think you are
short, but guess what?
a while ago (a few years’
time), you were.
But think about the irish
‘fore you think about yer 40’s–
the war is coming and
sadness is raining and
We are indestructible and our 40’s
are absolutely
divine.
