i hate your greasy smile.
I loathe the way your slither
through the swimming pool of your own spare change.
You, who covet cash.
You, who buys power.
You who ensalve.
I meet you face to face and you smile
smug in the social satisfaction of Rich
and I pentrate your eyes as you flinch in guilt
to your conscience so briefly ignited.
But you turn away from the prize
you look away with moistened eyes
towards your own decay.
I follow your shadow through the destruction you build
and grieve to see the pain you cause –
coveter of cash, courter of universal control.
I weep by your ancestors’ gravesides to know how much you surpass them in your stark efficiency –
the way you devour so quickly, and just excrete.
Yes, I follow your shadow through your streets –
for this is all you left me, for the price of your ego’s gold,
this is all that is left
of your economy.
