dark passages

i carve the hallway in my head
and walk inside it
the birds fly and scream around me

i shine the light
in the dark hallways
and look at the images painted
on the walls

of death
of pain
of despair

i paint pretty pictures
over the dark murals
and try adn smile

i exist in nothingness
just watching
in my station
changing channels on the tv
nothing to watch

i try and redress my world
in warm and happy things
without the comfort
of drugs
to escape banality

i drink some tequila
take my pills
and dance to the beat around me
follow the herd
try and make sense of there patterns

lost in a sea of nothingness
i give in
and let the current take me
to whevere it wishes

down the rabbit hole
i go
