The recipe for love
is actually just a blueprint
imprinted into the fabric
of all life.

The way the wind stirs
the leaves of a willow,
that is love.

The way a river caresses
the boulder,
that is love.

The way the sun warms the earth
and gives life to all creatures,
yes, that too is love.

And the way the poet’s pen
glides across the page,
that is love, sweet eloquent love.
