Sitting on the couch
In this house
of whom I dont know
my step dad’s mom’s
I decided to go
Just to show
my love
And my thanks
for my mom
and my friends

I’m watching football
Denver vs. Dallas
In old jerseys
17 to 3
Denver is winning

Theres decades of trophies
in decades of colors
On the mantel
And beautiful paintings behind me
of mountains, snow
Rivers, lakes
Trees, weeds
Sun and sky
I’m honestly awestruck
of all the colors

The smell and taste of turkey
stuffing
pie
is fading
as the clouds are shading
the sunshine away
my stomach is stuffed
with stuffing
and pie
the same goes for everyone else

The bird is chirping
and the whistle
On TV
is blowing
As my stomach hurts
from too much food
on a day that was planned
an hour before we left
But something is missing
this is the wrong grandpa
the wrong grandma
uncle and aunt
cousins
brothers, sisters
This whole family is wrong
And misunderstanding
why I write in this notebook
just for fun…
I hate holidays…
