Please check the Terms of Service about this issue. It states that LitKicks will make decisions about member termination “in its sole discretion”.
LitKicks is a community website, and we operate according to our understanding of the best practices of the top community websites on the internet. Deletion of members who cause problems on community websites is a familiar and standard practice, and LitKicks cannot take upon itself the responsibility to allow every deleted member a “public trial”. We are run by a very small volunteer staff with a tiny budget, and there is much other work to do. If this became necessary, the site would have to cease operation.
If you want to discuss issues of internet community management, free speech, etc., in depth, there are other internet forums, such as at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, where you will find fascinating debates. The sole purpose of LitKicks is to discuss literature and share original fiction and poetry in a friendly setting.
