Seasons of the Earth

Cooing doves
Seem to carry the scent of violets
Because spring is near

Breaking the silence
In the ancient valley
A bird flutters free

A hedgehog emerges from long hibernation
Rubs his eyes
And is stepped on

On hot summer evening
The lazy sun praises
The earth with deafening thunderbolts

Every movement is audible
From the autumn leaf
Falling to the ground

Past midnight I no longer wait for you
Bathing in self pity
I turn my attention to the full moon

Catching snowflakes-
Under black clouds- Melting
The first snow of winter

Somewhere within the mist
Drenched mountains
There must be a river humming

At early dawn
The morning stars reflection-
My shivering blue eye-
Silent

Blackbird seen carried in the gale-
Wind with a perfume of ice-
As winter approaches

A foreign wind
Turns the pages of my book
As I weep
