I just write a story. If it’s too long, I call it a novel. If it’s too short, it’s a “vignette.” If people don’t like it I say it’s a rough draft. If they do like it, I say, “Well, it came from deep within my heart.”
If they really hate it, I hit ’em with, “Well, most people hate William S. Burroughs, too. You obviously have no soul!”
