I listened to you talking tonite..
about how you missed your girlfriend,
how great she was, how much you loved her…
and then you turned quiet for a moment..
I watched your eyes close briefly..
Looking intently at me you murmured,
‘Its always in the back of my mind, you know’
My heart skipped a beat…
Yes I did know.. I knew exactly what you meant..
Us…’ whats meant to be is meant to be’ i whispered…
A relationship we had started three years ago..
and somehow still.. dont know how it ends..
we both went our separate ways..
You went off to college across the world..
and i kept my fingers crossed for emails from you..
Some sign that you hadnt forgotten me…
Because all these years later you still cross my mind..
and i wonder.. well what if..
what if we had more time..
what if i let myself love you…
What if I let this fantastic guy just walk out of my life,
without even knowing…
and yeah.. its always in the back of my mind..
something we started three years ago..
and still dont know how it ends…
