I am a big fan of the crime-noir/hard boiled detective genre. I love the simplicity of language that is employed in those type of stories. Know what I mean? That terse, choppy rambling…& I love the dark, murky, seedy environment the writers of the genre create…it’s like a shadowy chiaroscuro painted with word images…I like to experiment with that in my fiction & poetry.
