Hope
Where? In Summerland we’ll meet
All bruised up, blue, and beat.
Two dark figures amidst a fast paced crowd
Looking in the distance, without a doubt
We would meet on some sidewalk in sight
Two silenced sparks asking for a light.
We spent our time sipping tea
Under fragrant orange trees.
I loved you then,
When your eyes have light up for the first time
The only time as ours
Over smoking shadows
Over muffled sighs
Those last waking hours.
In Heaven we’ll meet with Emily
And talk of death
And how we had to stop, for we were too late
And Eternity just wouldn’t wait.
