Scenes of America

This could be any scene from Minnesota, maybe even Rochester, New York.
Surfacing from the steep mountain, I peer over the peak, gazing into the valley.
Delicate swans ripple throughout the body of the delta.
At the bank, auburn ponies stand munching on the wet grass.
Violet darkness bounds in, bringing peace to the willows.
Knowing once in time, the natives would respect the dimness, and shyly bring their bows to a rest.
Now this land is pale, incorporated by acres, barbed by foolishness and wired white with lack of respect.
