Grays

Grays

inspiration abandoned in gray tones,
yearning for calypso color
a loud blue sky
shouts of yellow and red hibiscus
but it’s a New England day
in Florida

wandering aimlessly
toe dipped in the pool
watching the gray ripples run coldly away
even the green and yellow eyes of my cats
seem duller

can it be that generations
tainted by the heart and soul of art
can be so affected,
so awfully imbued by the touch of colors
that these grays hurt…
I don’t know

maybe gray is ok, maybe
I’m just moody, maybe
I can create something beautiful
a monochrome woven of silky silvery grays
perhaps gray is after all
this days inspiration…
