God

all I know is this:
whatever I may pen
this prick in time
it is already speck of sequence
contemplating You
omnipresent in its
commonality

finer molecular grains
that elbow on the shore
eroding
infinite in conjecture
and the waves are Your own method
of disturbance
fate at play

thus sayeth,
so sayeth, I sayeth
Thou are soothless
for out of cracking lips the prophets puff
disappearing magic
and the glitter glance of stars
are the only witness
guilty of Your presence

Thou
who bareth the load of human dread
and human dignity,
whatsayeth You
amongst the wagging tongues?
and climactic clatter of cumulus
clouds of knowing
clashing in certainty
cymbals clanging

I hear only
silence
unnatural utterance
and it surprises me not
that here You are most mistaken
