What We’ve Become
-Alicia C. Deathkiss

Somehow, it isn’t the same now…
It is different…
We have crossed lines into strangeness
With one another,
And though we see it not yet,
We are different…I feel it.
We have crossed over, into each other’s,
Personal taboos.
Walking wearily into old territories
Sworn never to be walked on again.
But we did…
She did first…
I just cried about it in the other room.
And eventually noticed,
That things weren’t going quite the way
She said they would.
So I am leaving.
I am going.
Leaving him
Her
And all of this behind…
One was enough,
Twice is all too much,
And I am not going to be around
For three.
So let them have their fun for the time…
He’ll do it to her too.
I know he will.
But what do I know, right?
And we will all be miserable ever after…
