sharp and bright like the fragments of a storm, the mirror
picks its perch apart, mixing floor and ceiling.

suffice it say I put it there in its present state, with a little
help from gravity. perhaps it was the face that spurred me on,
taunting as its presence implied my own mutability,
that I might go from man to reflection.
