Eyes sparked a fire in me

Eyes
sparked a fire
in me,
acres of brain
burned,
senses charred,
hollow heart.

Eyes
sparked a fire
in me,
coalyards now,
wind
blows like trains,
whistles bleak.

Eyes
sparked a fire
in me,
medics came,
sirens,
interrupted the night,
sleep left.

Eyes
sparked a fire
in me,
surrender won,
apples,
bit the serpent,
no doubt.
