Becuase I May Not Write (about my hate for the goverment)

Because I may not write
about my hate for the government-
corporations-
large associations of idiots
ruling my land with an iron hand
they call democracy
does not mean I don’t notice these things-
or find them relevant;
they are all too pertinent
to my situation
I choose to overlook them
in writing-
let go of my hostility-
escape into someplace
where it can’t hurt me
or exist as anything more than
a dream I just forget
washed up on the distant shore
of another land-
Reality is full of
cold and concrete-
hard facts-
inimical eyes and boundaries
that I can’t pursue
beyond the planes of thought-
bald facts
staring me dead in the face;
Too much of reality is riddled
with hate
to let my writing absorb
the muddy depths of my humanity
by osmosis
or any other means-
I let the writing be just poetry-
express my wounds
as an outlet into
some other place
where pain is hardly pain
and only words are the vessels
for self expression-
and exploration
I accept my dispassion
in just the same fashion
that I accept my intensity;
as a separate being
that writhes in between
a latent expostulation
and a recanted statement
that pontificates upon
itself-
I find and lose the thread
just like a trail of bread
that lights my path thru the dark-
So I forget myself
and the harsh cold truth
of this sham-
sifted away into ribbons of sand
that ride their own
streets thru eternity
forgetting and remembering
simultaneously-
Dying
even
while
living…
