Tequila Sunrise

We made beautiful colors last night… didn’t we?
The windows trembled with sun, and the darkened room’s teardrops.
It was a quiet day.
Slobbing on the town and spilling life into it all.
Chicago city blues, they said… it’s all about the blues….
In dark, mysterious cars, and pay by the hour motels.
Sick and crying, drinking the dead, and she’s no drag…
We watch the way he walks, and we love everything.
Dizzy remberances in insane asylum, it’s like I was never there.
I had never begun to breathe nor open a plastic cloud’s eyes…
It was my job to make the world see the world.
Sheeps graze in night air beating softly…
Beckoning and calling the gods with prayer..
Petitioning for a new life.
Love and Death are first cousins, no, brother and sister.
Crying eyes of the sleeping child grow cold and tired with wanting…
I kiss you on the lips and sigh.
Sometime around nine… I will visit you in vast caves,
And the mountains near Gimmelwald.
We’ll climb the Alps and smoke some opium atop it’s peak.
My God, I’m so high with this thing…
It burns me inside.
And that sunrise is producing drunken fools in dainty, wild forests…
Oxymorons in their sleep.
I was always there for you at night, behind soberiety…
We saved you from the crossroads… near the edge of time…
But the absence of tequila and beer makes you cry,
And so I held you until you became drunk off my fumes,
So that together, we could rule the world,
We could become shamans and gurus of nothing and everything.
Together…
Oh! happily together…
We could be such a wonderful thing.
Warm and content in frightening madness…
We’d drown in each other…
And die only on a quiet yesterday.
Never to see the light, and all but mortified of the darkness
So hungry and desolate that nothing could bury our pain.
