Marched this Sunday in D.C. Here’s a little something for you – somewhat related:

a million
the whisper grows louder
remember the power of the people
when their hearts and minds
have been mutilated from up on high
the strength and the sound
of their voices lifted in poetic rage
together
starry-eyed and the cynic scream together
for the loss of their innocence
ideals no longer part of the national budget
instead a festering debt that only
the proletariat knows
for they see it in their homes
in their streets and in their jobs
– if they are ‘fortunate’ enough to work
while the ignorant and ignoble total the
‘collateral damage’ and deafen themselves
to the hundreds of thousands marching
for one cause
and with one message
we are here
the heart of the nation
and though we be the final blistered battalion
these work worn hands still recall
fighting days…
