It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood

I took the path less traveled by.
The high road through the thick leaves
of dying grass. The uphill unknown.
But I had to pee…

I felt all the social drip away.
Damn braces, bless relaxes.
All that Lives is Holy!

Bits and pieces of discarded lives
strewn before me on a fall day.

MILKY WAY MARS BARS ALMOND JOY
TRIDENT WHITE
COORS LIGHT
A Taste Born High
In the Rocky Mountains
High in Colorado High

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
HE-MAN: THE POWER OF
GRAYSKULL
I have the power!
QUANTUM LEAP
We have the technology.

Longings buried in the banal
in plain view, along the highway.
The language of transcendence,
mystical cryptograms
(rebus) of metaphors,
dead metaphors, dead things.

Words imprisoned in their shiny wrappers.
Yet (hidden) in the background
of the aluminum mirror writing.
Aluminations! Revelations!
Screaming, we’re here! we’re here! over here!

Overhear. Listen. Silent.
An anagram. Decode the signs.
Writing bursting at the seams.
Notes on a very small
piece of paper.
