… large demonstrations, loud voices, banners, screaming dogmatic leftists, anarchists with bibs of fire, children marching with grandparents, editorials, rock bands bellowing anti-war sentiment from teenage stages, poets hurling stanzas of peace, artists smearing themselves with mole sauce and coffee beans, oil dumped in the streets, foreign languages calling for reason, students occuppying football stadiums and gymnasiums, ten thousand single mothers chanting “OM AH HUM”, ten million people turning off their television sets, emails across the planet, wine parties and torn underware, civil disobedience, and the ghost of Whitman and Thoreau appearing in the sky over Wall St ……
