a skewed sense of perspective … and i dont think that i’m misinterpreting your post in the same way that i misinterpreted illuminara’s post. i think what you’re doing is using a broad interpretation of the definition of tyranny. after all, bush was elected using the laws of this country. it bothers the hell out of me that, seeing as he was clearly the underdog in terms of raw votes, he hasn’t taken the opportunity to run a less partisan govt, but, that is his prerogative as the elected leader.

again, i’m speaking literally here. i’m the first person to call bush our permanent presiden-appoint, and to get angry at the way the whole florida debacle went down. but that’s not the point. he’s not inflicted his will on the american public. and, no, i would say it’s not true that all leaders force their will on the people. that’s way too broad a statement, i think.
