McCarthyism of the left and right (California news)

Has anyone noticed that McCarthyism (typically and rightfully associated with the right-wing) is also not so foreign to many so-called liberals and democrats? There are so many identity-politics CA democrats who, instead of thinking about ISSUES such as the economy, crime/legal issues, war/military, think only in terms of race or gender …

Democrats that know anything about the tradition of REAL leftist politics should be arguing for higher capital gains taxes, luxury taxes, supporting public education, due process and environmental protection; as well as attacking the California oligarchies that helped put AS in office… instead of going on about secondary issues such as abortion and “gay” rights…


Identity politics has replaced rational debate; image (such as a big daddy Gover-nator) triumphs over substance and discussion. McCarthyism is really a sort of logical fallacy–assuming something nasty about someone without sufficient evidence: certainly practiced by left and right wing ideologues.

King Ahh-nuld now is slashing the education budget and state programs: what do all the dems that voted for him and thought he was “liberal” think now.
