not sure about your remark about freedom of religion. what did you mean? the freedom of religion is not a freedom to impose once religious ethos unto others which is what the religiously insired homophobes are doing. so i think religious freedom is totally irrelevent here, unless you hypothesize a religious freedom to gay marraige, if there were a religion that supports it.
