separating the people from the govt

it is a rare case when the overwhelming majority of citizens are 100% in support of their leaders.

certainly in america we have a higher likelihood of that happening, and it’s still no good.

even when you say “i doubt most americans think [that the elected actually represent the electors]”, you’re actually just splitting hairs. the normal approval rating, even for bush, is over 50%.

the fact that other nations are evil is not irrelevent. you can judge the US however you’d like, certainly. but that doesnt mean that you’re acknowledging the general history of nations and of superpowers. all strong nations favor self preservation and spreading their influence over compassion. it’s an historical fact. i just dont see the point of attacking the US without recognizing this, and without putting their actions into that perspective. you can if you want, but you’re being simplistic, antagonistic, and basically avoiding the attempt to pursue true understanding.
