Doesn’t make much sense, does it? Why try to make your case with weak evidence (U.S. intel) if you have stronger evidence (Russian intel) available? Why has the Administration wasted so much time trying to link al-Qaida with Saddam’s regime if evidence has existed all along that Saddam’s regime itself was planning attacks on the U.S? Or was Saddam’s regime planning to utilize al-Qaida in the attacks? But no link between Saddam and al Qaida has been shown. I don’t know. None of this seems to add up.

But, for the record, if Saddam’s regime did in fact pose a real, direct threat to the U.S., then this puts the war in a whole different light. But I don’t know. Something seems amiss here.
