I mentioned on a previous post: “Severed Trust” by George D. Lundberg MD. This is a VERY readable book that spells out the problems in no uncertain terms. I don’t agree with his ENTIRE conclusion (he has his own solution) but on the whole, I think he’s correct.

Another place you could go for information is the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Association website. You might think that this is automatically a slanted site, but I’ve found them to be pretty balanced in discussing the issues. There have been a few things with an angle, but I haven’t seen any blatant lies, so far. In general, it’s good place to go to keep up with current issues in health care.

If you want to be BORED to death, I have one or two extremely dry textbooks I could recommend, but to just get a good overview, I highly recommend “Severed Trust”.
