first, a couple grammatical points:
shouldn’t The Crimean War was waged in behalf of the British East India Company be ‘ The Crimean War was waged on behalf of the British East India Company’?
Dardenelles is Dardanelles…i think
now, Dardanelles is the British name for the passage of water…the turks consider it an insult to call it that…they prefer The Bosphorous, just as they prefer Istanbul to Constantinople

up to you if you want to keep Dardanelles, being in period and all…thought you might like to know
now, i read something a little while back about the light brigade charge being a calculated ruse to draw the russians away from something else…persia maybe…awfully cold and calculated…might be an angle worth exploring
lastly, i kind of get turned off when things like the war here was caused by this and that and it is stated matter of factly, when it isn’t really all that matter of fact, near as i can tell…but i guess it’s an op-ed……..
