I tried following the beauty of this design with my eyes closed the first time and it worked. I thought I would need my eyes to experience the change. White laced branches draping my vision to convince me of winter. When I closed my eyes though I looked in my body for the change in the blackness. I realized that all I really needed was my teeth to feel winter, I could feel it at the roots especially, where the gums meet, that’s where I could really feel the cold coming into my body past my teeth down into my chest, ridding my lungs of autumn dust, expanding into my body in tangible, crystal breaths. But there at the roots of my teeth, I wnated to stay right there, but began thinking of York Peppermint Patty commercials and my childhood in the eighties, I tried to hold onto the spot where my teeth meet my gums. I closed my eyes, and clenched my teeth together and faced up into the sky, I inhaled a whistling freezing cold breath and really CONCENTRATED as snowflakes landed on the bridge of my teeth and listened. When I heard the silence I knew it was winter.
